Objective
Enhance slate presentations by replacing traditional static key art with cinemagraphs, creating a more engaging and immersive experience for major sales events.
Challenge
The team was divided—some favored static key art for its familiarity, while I advocated for cinemagraphs, highlighting their ability to boost engagement (85% increase) and retention (0.83% higher click-through rates).
Approach
Research & Advocacy: Compiled data on cinemagraph effectiveness and created a side-by-side comparison to illustrate their impact.
Design Execution: Used layered PSD files to apply dynamic motion effects, referencing trailers and ad spots for authenticity. Motion techniques included displacement maps, fog effects, talent movement, puppet warping, keying, and title reveals.
Presentation & Implementation: Demonstrated the cinemagraphs in the slate presentation, aligning them with the films' visual branding to enhance audience engagement.
Result
The presentation received enthusiastic feedback from stakeholders and the audience, proving cinemagraphs’ effectiveness over static key art. Their success led to adoption as a standard for future event campaigns, reinforcing their role in driving higher engagement and retention.
